DunDunDenDen (also known as the Buildup) is a segment that begins after the first chorus section. It usually, but not always, consists of the main phrase used in the Sparta Remix. (The chorus always contains this phrase) This part is usually one of the simpler parts of a remix, but many have added freestyles and other creative elements to it.

Etymology[]
Siblings Mechanic1c and gamma3adhexius both claim to have coined the term "DunDunDenDen". The onomatopoeia describes the segment of Sparta Remixes where loud quarter notes are played with silence in between. In 2017, the section is commonly called the "Buildup", replacing the original name.
One of the popular Sparta Remixers, Jedi787plus (known as the founder of this wiki) popularized the term.
CloudNinja - This (DunDunDenDen) needs a better name tho
Krasen Makes Content - Maybe (After Chorus?)
Useful confused the name of this term with "DunDunDen".
"DunDunDun" was another known misspelling encountered during most of 2009.
